Hi, I’m Christopher – the person behind LearnDeutsch.

Your coach

I have been teaching German as a foreign language for many years with great passion and have helped over 1000 students to significantly improve their German, pass exams, perfect their pronunciation and achieve their goals.

I grew up in Neuss, Germany and German is my mother tongue. After graduating from high school in 1995, I went to Israel for six months where I lived on a kibbutz near the coastal city of Haifa. Back in Germany, I studied Pedagogy and English at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. I also worked in Great Britain and Canada during my studies.

After my intermediate diploma, I studied speech therapy at the University of Cologne where I learned the basics of phonetics and dealt a lot with psychology. During this time, I became more and more interested in teaching and finally acquired my qualification as a German teacher at the Heinrich Heine University and the Goethe Institute in Düsseldorf. I have been a certified German teacher since 2010 and a certified pronunciation trainer since 2012.

In addition, I acquired the professional qualification for insurance and finance (Specialist for Insurance and Finance) at the IHK Düsseldorf in 2014 and completed the Basic Medicine Certificate Course at the Apollon University of Applied Sciences in Bremen in 2020.

I live in Düsseldorf and teach at a private language school, online at LearnDeutsch and at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf.
